(More customer reviews)Ken Stichter's Murder on the High Route is not a good book but a great one! I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the Owens Valley and the Sierra Nevada area. The author weaves the history of this area from the 19th and 20th centuries into this murder mystery in very unusual ways. It is well written, easy to read and easy to pick-up where you left off when forced to put the book down. I read it while on vacation in Hawaii and it was a perfect choice for me. I love history so a book that combines this with a present day mystery was a welcome read while relaxing on the beach. I am not a backpacker but I gained some insight to the challenges and dangers of this hobby. This book will definitely keep your attention. You will come to know and like Sti and Rob as they try to solve the reasons for the death of a park ranger.

Backpackers Sti and Rob discover skeletal remains of a female NationalPark Ranger at 11,000 feet in the trailless environment of the SierraNevada High Route.
