(More customer reviews)A friend gave this book to my seven year old daughter, who was completely freaked by the illustrations and by the notion that these creepy little "fairies" sneak up while you are sleeping and mess with your hair - which, if I think about it too much, freaks ME out. Plus, the poetry was pretty strained and awkward. In fairness to the other reviewers, perhaps there is some appeal for a younger, less aware child. My normally bold daughter refuses to keep the book in her bedroom.
If I'm going to read a frightening poetry book to my kid, I'll stick with Slovenly Peter - the illustrations are better and so is the poetry.
